Books

I can never seem to have enough of them. There are piles of books all over my house, on the night table, next to the bed, on chairs, in baskets, on steps and yes, some are even on shelves! The books pictured are just some of the many books I am currently reading. These volumes ignite ideas and provide great inspiration. As soon as I purchase one another one comes out that I must get my hands on! Contrasting colors also spark ideas for design concepts including these wonderful deep blue lapis rondelles that a sweet friend purchased for me at the latest Bead Fair in Tucson, Arizona. Placing them next to a strand of African trade beads and a huge blue and white porcelain bead ( purchased at least 25 years ago in the East village, New York), say something really sublime! Don't you think?

Looks like you are starting to be inspired?!? Please show us how this blue lapis turns out! & yes, nothing better than piles of books (& some good magazines...) all over the house! My cat & I sit down & read each afternoon. It is the best time of the day!

cats, books and beads...looks like we may be singing from a similar hymnsheet.

there's a magic blue table in the Hermitage Museum (St Petersburg, Russia)which has a top made up of one big sheet of lapis lazuli...

It looks like quite a few of my books are in your pile! Tribal Art is one of my favourites. Like you, I just can't stop buying books and now we have run out of space. I have always said no books under the beds but guess what?

The way you display your beads with the blue china makes the most beautiful photograph. In fact all your photographs and yummy beads are very inspiring.
